Purple Diesel commonly found at most dispensaries throughout Northern California is a Purple Kush and Sour Diesel cross. The soothing body stone of Purple Kush comes through, but the powerful cerebral stimulation associated with Sour Diesel is more prominent.
Purple Diesel is energetic and relaxing, a blend of fruit and fuel

And there are at least a few hybrids of different purple strains, such as Purple Urkle, crossed with either Sour Diesel or NYC Diesel, being sold as clones under the name Purple Diesel.
